Insurance market expands by 13% in Q1 - Allianz extends lead
Total premium revenues on Hungary's insurance market reached HUF 176.8 billion (USD 946 million) in the first quarter of 2005, according to figures released by the Alliance of Hungarian Insurance Companies (Mabisz). Revenues were 13.1% higher than a year earlier, up from 7.2% growth in 2004 as a whole.
List price-based ad spending in Hungary up 19% to HUF 439 billion in 2004
Advertisement spending continued to grow at a healthy pace in Hungary last year, reaching HUF 438.7 billion (USD 2.17 billion) based on list prices and HUF 154.7 billion, according to estimated net spending figures, the Hungarian Advertising Association (MRSZ) announced.
OTP, MKB receive global loans from EIB - EUR 80 million total
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed Global Loan agreements with Hungary's largest bank OTP and Bayerische Landesbank subsidiary MKB Bank on Thursday, to the respective values of EUR 50 million and EUR 30 million.
EIB provides loans of EUR 77 million for transport infrastructure projects
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed two separate loan agreements with the finance ministry on Thursday to the combined value of EUR 77 million. The loans will co-finance transport infrastructure projects supported by the EU's Cohesion Fund, and as such will be the EIB's first loans of this kind in Hungary.
PC penetration near 90% among companies, says GKI
PC penetration at firms employing more than five people was 89.7% in March 2005, up from 88.7% six months earlier, according to a study conducted by research firm GKI, T-Mobile and Sun Microsystems.
