The developer Budapesti Ingatlanhasznosítási és Fejlesztési Nyrt (BIF) mixed 19th-century architectural elements with 21st-century technology when rebuilding the one-time headquarters of the Hungarian Royal Tobacco Factory. An above-average interior height, slim, wrought-iron supporting columns and an arched roof lend a special mood to the office building, just as the Roman-era ruins which were discovered during archaeological works and can now be viewed through the glass flooring at one of the entrances.
The usual services of the office building are supplemented by a 240-car parking garage, an indoor restaurant and café with garden terraces, and a green inner courtyard of some 2,000 square metres. The value of the investment was 3 billion forints. The developer's other office project, the Ü48 Center is just now springing out of the ground on the corner of Üllői Road and Kisfaludy Street. The office building will be close to the Corvin Promenade, and will be a premium-category facility with 7,300 square metres of space, adorned with unique architectural and design elements. It is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2009.
