"Alstom Power Hungary will close its most successful financial year in March 2006, by recording revenues of HUF 40 bln," Wolff said. "Usually our turnover depends on large projects, which we were well supplied with in 2005–2006."
Alstom Hungary's improved results are largely thanks to new contracts during the period, such as the renewal and extension of a power plant in Kelenfold, Budapest for EUR 30 mln, as well as the reconstruction of the fourth block at the Tisza II power plant. The company was also recently contracted by Matrai Eromu power plant for a total amount of HUF 4.4 bln.
The Hungarian subsidiary of the French group has also taken part in group-level tenders, supplying a Swedish and a Finnish company with nuclear power plant development projects, where 50–60% of the material comes from the company's Hungarian resources, Wolff stressed. The percentage compares to an 80–90% rate in the case of developments in Hungary, the CEO added.
