The new swimming pool and sports centre in Budaörs will be completed during the summer. The latter, a 10 thousand square metre complex, will be built in a 2.7 billion forint investment funded by the local government. In addition to the two pools to be located on the 32 thousand square metre site giving home to the establishment, there will also be a jacuzzi, sauna, changing rooms and showers, while the sports centre section will contain a 1000 square metre arena where various ball games can be organised. The complex will also include a 2500-capacity stage with good acoustics.
Standing out from the developments on and around the Csepel Island are the 36 billion forint, EU-funded revitalisation of the Danube's Ráckeve (Soroksár) branch, and the building of the 6.5 billion forint section of the backbone road of Csepel Island to Szigetszentmiklós. Also worth mentioning is the conversion of the polyclinic in Szigetszentmiklós into a one-day surgery institution.
To the north of Budapest, the open-air baths at Visegrád-Lepence will be renewed, by 2010 according to plans, and expanded with a four-star hotel and an adventure bath. Currently, the archaeological digs leading up the investment are taking place, and while the project development company in charge declined to provide any information, according to our sources, the permit procedure for the complex is now underway, and construction could start in mid-summer.
Szentendre is the site of a signifi cant built-to-suit investment: Raiffeisen Real Estate Zrt will build the Central and Eastern European regional centre of Ford here, where sales, marketing and after-sales activities for 32 countries will be handled. The representative complex, to be built on a 4-hectare area at the southern gate of the city, along route 11 (at the exit road toward Budakalász), will have total area of 7600 square metres, as well as parking space for several hundred cars.
