Coalition parties agree on capping spending in 2006, targeting 2010 euro entry
The coalition parties of the Hungarian government said on Monday that they have agreed not to raise the expenditure side of the 2006 budget, and to target 2010 as the date for eurozone entry. "The parties in the coalition have agreed not to propose raising any of the expenditures in the 2006 budget draft, paving the way to meet the Maastricht criteria by 2008 and introduce the euro in 2010," government spokesman Andras Batiz told reporters.
