January-February 2005 trade deficit EUR 467.6 million - up EUR 99.2 million on year
Hungary's foreign trade deficit reached EUR 467.6 million in January–February 2005, according to second reading data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH). This represents a 26.9% or EUR 99.2 million increase over the previous year.
GKI: Economic indicators worsen - GDP forecast revised down to 3.5%

PMI in the positive at 50.5 points in April
Hungary's purchasing manager index (PMI) rose to 50.5 points in April from 48.7 in March, according to seasonally adjusted figures published by the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management (MLBKT).
Producer price inflation 5.0% in March, 0.8% month-on-month
Hungary's producer price index (PPI) rose 5.0% year on year in March 2005, and was up 0.8% compared to the previous month, according to figures released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH). The PPI rose 4.0% in the first quarter of the year overall.
Monetary Council cuts base rate by 25 bp to 7.50%, as expected
Effective April 26, the Monetary Council of central bank MNB reduced the base rate by 25 basis points to 7.50% at its Monday meeting, MNB announced. The move was in line with market expectations.
