Invitel reports 5% EBITDA growth to HUF 5.1 billion in Q1
Magyar Telecom B.V., the parent company of Hungarian LTO Invitel Rt, recorded EBITDA of HUF 5.1 billion (EUR 20.9 million) in the first three months of 2005, a rise of 5% compared the same period last year, the company announced.
ACNielsen strengthens market leading position despite slow revenue growth
Market research firm ACNielsen Piackutato Kft, the Hungarian division of the ACNielsen group, controlled by the Netherlands' VNU, recorded a 2% rise in Hungarian revenues to HUF 1.63 billion (USD 8 million) last year, the company announced.
Nokia and Siemens to deliver 3G network components to Vodafone Hungary
Vodafone, Hungary's number three mobile provider announced that it has selected Nokia Hungary to deliver the core infrastructure of the company's future 3G network, while Siemens Communications will be the supplier of the 3G radio network.
Amendments aimed at limiting black and gray employment to take effect this year

Home construction rises 5.8%, but new building permits down 6% in Q1
A total of 7288 new homes were completed in Hungary in the first quarter of 2005, 5.8% more than in the same period of the previous year, according to figures released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH). However, the number of new permits issued for home building during January-March actually decreased by 6% to 10,647.
