Monetary Council to disregard one-off effects of tax changes in monetary policy decisions
The Monetary Council of Hungary's central bank MNB will not seek to counterbalance the one-off disinflationary effects of recently announced tax changes, and its monetary policy decisions will instead be determined by the medium-term inflation outlook, the Council said in a statement.
APV invites tender to sell Csepel Freeport
Privatization agency APV has called an open, three-round tender for the sale of Budapesti Szabadkikoto Logisztikai Rt (BSZL), the operator of the Csepel Freeport in Budapest. Letters of intent are due July 22, and a final decision on the winner is expected before the end of the year.
GKI maintains GDP growth forecast at 3.5%
Economic research institute GKI is maintaining its 2005 GDP growth forecast for Hungary at 3.5%, after a previous downward revision and sluggish growth in Q1. At this level, growth will still remain above the EU average, GKI notes.
