June inflation above expectations at 3.8% y-o-y, but core inflation continues to fall
Consumer prices in Hungary were 3.8% higher in June 2005 than a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced. Prices were up 0.3% compared to the previous month.

Finance ministry forecasts HUF 28.8 billion surplus for July
The finance ministry expects a consolidated budget surplus of HUF 28.8 billion in July, bringing the deficit for the first seven months to HUF 959.3 billion, or 93.8% of the full-year target, down from 96.6% at the end of June.
