Japan's Musashi breaks ground on Hungarian paint factory

Japanese paint manufacturer Musashi has started construction of a 3,000 square meter production plant in the industrial park of the western Hungarian town of Oroszlany. The factory, Musashi's first in Europe, will be completed by the end of the year.

Thus far Musashi only had production facilities in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea and China, while European customers were served from Musashi's UK sales office.

Musashi's main clients include telecommunications and consumer electronics equipment manufacturers, which use Musashi paint to color their products.

The new factory will be built under a HUF 1.5 bln investment, and will employ 50 workers. Its annual output could reach HUF 8 bln once production is geared up to full capacities within three years.

Musashi said earlier that it chose Oroszlany as the site of the investment on account of its developed infrastructure as well as its proximity to major clients.
