Hungarian gov't to stick to original VAT hike proposal after coalition partner's objections
The Hungarian government will revert to its original proposal to raise Hungary's 15% VAT rate to 20% following objections by junior coalition party SZDSZ to a new proposal floated Tuesday that would have raised the 15% rate to 17% and the default 20% rate to 23%, acting government spokesperson Zoltan J Gal told reporters Wednesday.
