Hungarian parliament passes 2006 Budget Act, sees deficit narrowing to 4.7% of GDP
The Hungarian parliament approved the country's budget for 2006 late Monday evening, after a marathon session of voting. The Budget Act passed with 196 votes for and 7 against. Opposition parties Fidesz and MDF took different approaches in the vote, with MDF, the smaller conservative party, voting outright against the budget, and Fidesz abstaining from the vote.
