Value of M&As involving Hungarian companies declines 22% to USD 1.4 bln in 2005

A report released by consultant KPMG Tuesday shows that the total transaction value of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) involving Hungarian companies fell by 22% year on year in 2005 to USD 1.4 bln and was well down on a high of USD 5 bln in 2000.

Smaller power plants to become more prominent in Hungary in coming years

Due to fast developing new technologies, state subsidies and the declining cost of equipment, small power plants with 50 MW capacity or below will significantly increase their share of the Hungarian power generation market in the coming decade, according to a study by Hungarian power grid operator Mavir.
