Gripen has now made five claims worth a total of EUR 360 million. The offset arrangement, which will total EUR 764 million by the end of its 14-year term, is related to the Hungarian government's purchase of 14 Gripen fighter planes in 2001. Under the terms of the agreement, Gripen must carry out activities which benefit the Hungarian economy in order to offset the value of the purchase.
"I am very pleased to confirm that our claim has been approved by the Hungarian Ministry of Economy and Transport," said Yvonne Rosmark, Gripen International's program director in Hungary.
