August inflation below forecast at 3.6% y-o-y as food price drop offsets fuel hike

Consumer prices in Hungary were 3.6% higher in August 2005 than a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced. Prices were down 0.4% compared to the previous month.

Real wages rise 5.2% in July 2005

Wages in Hungary continued to rise dynamically both in gross (7.6%) and in net (9.1%) terms in July 2005, when compared to the same month last year, according to figures released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Audi inaugurates EUR 40 mln tool plant in western Hungary

German car manufacturer Audi inaugurated on Friday a new machine tool plant in the western Hungarian town of Gyor, the company announced Friday. The event was attended by Hungarian prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsany.
