Sanofi-Aventis inaugurates new HUF 11 billion medicine packaging plant
Sanofi-Aventis, Europe's largest pharmaceutical manufacturer, inaugurated a new packaging plant and logistics center in Veresegyhaza (northeast to Budapest) as part of its Hungarian unit Chinoin Rt. Construction began in December 2003 and cost HUF 11 billion (USD 53 million).
APV publishes list of bidders for Budapest Airport

Producer price inflation 5.2% in May, 4.5% in first five months

January April 2005 trade deficit EUR 949.1 million - narrows by 44.3% on year
Hungary's foreign trade deficit reached EUR 949.1 million in January-April 2005, according to second reading data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH). This represents a 44.3% or EUR 755.5 million decrease in the deficit over the previous year.
Current account deficit EUR 1.497 billion in Q1, slightly above expectations
Hungary's current account deficit reached EUR 1.497 billion in the first quarter of 2005, according to figures released by central bank MNB on Thursday. This is slightly above the market expectation of EUR 1.43 billion, and compares to a deficit of EUR 1.707 billion in the fourth quarter of 2004 and EUR 1.308 billion in Q1 2004.
