The development includes a new production line, as well as maintenance workshops, an expedition building, a new warehouse and a packaging plant. The new plant will require a doubling of headcount to more than 400.
The plant was built as part of a development program valued at over EUR 200 million, whereby the company is spending some EUR 30 million annually to expand or upgrade existing capacities.
As a result of the investment, the firm's Hungarian production capacity will double from an annual 60 million packets to 100-120 million, and Veresegyhaz will become the center of tablet and pellet production in Hungary. Hungarian production will thus reach one-fourth of the total capacity of Sanofi-Aventis.
