GKI confidence index bounces back in July from record lows
Business and consumer confidence recovered somewhat in July from the previous month's record low levels, according to economic research institute GKI. The institute's composite confidence index was up to -18.0 points, reversing five months of continuous declines.
MOL expects fuel prices to pick up slightly in August

January–May trade deficit narrows by almost half to EUR 1.06 billion
Hungary's foreign trade deficit reached EUR 1.06 billion in January–May 2005, according to second reading data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Tuesday. This represents a 48% decrease in the deficit over the same period last year.
Insurance market expands by 12.3% in H1 – Allianz retains lead
Total premium revenues on Hungary's insurance market reached HUF 339.6 billion (USD 1.7 billion) in the first half of 2005, according to figures released by the Alliance of Hungarian Insurance Companies (Mabisz). Revenues were 12.3% higher than a year earlier.
