The number of PCs used by companies of least five employees varied significantly, with 20% of the companies using only one computer, 28% using 2-3, and 23% possessing 4-6. Altogether 29% of the firms surveyed used more than six PCs in the period. Of the average 11.9 computers per company, 10.5 were desktop PCs and 1.4 were laptops.
The average age of computers varied according to the size of the companies, according to the poll. Medium-size companies possessed seven percentage points more "old" PCs (three years or older) than the average, while large companies, especially those employing 50< people, used four pp fewer old computers than the domestic average.
There were differences along sector lines as well. The average age of PCs was lower than the average in the hotel and restaurant sector as well as in the telecom and logistics industry, while relatively obsolete computers were used in the agriculture sector as well as in the mining and energy industries.
